20130216

February 16, 2013 was the day when I participated in my first CIP programme at SAF Yacht Club in Changi Clubhouse. The programme lasted from 5pm to 9pm and Chinese Orchestra played four songs included Chinese New Year and Spectrum songs (refer to old posts).

I remembered reaching Changi Clubhouse and saw many construction sites. The clubhouse was located at a spot where I do not think many people will ever visit there unless someone has brought you there before. Once CO reached the SAF Yacht Club, we alighted and I carried my heavy instrument all the way to a conference room (with sea view). :) We had McDonalds for dinner and soft drinks were provided.

The first set performance for two CNY songs started at 7.30pm and the second set at 8.15pm. After CO played the two sets of songs, the host said, "How about one more tune for us by the Greenridge Chinese Orchestra" and the SAF Yacht Club members cheered. At first we did not know what to do and finally we decided to play "Roly Poly" which received positive reception. Overall of the five songs received standing ovation and our teacher gave every members an Oreo as a reward.

As this was my first time going for an event like this, it was a rewarding and a great experience. I hope to go for more events like this! ^^

P.S. I will post more about how I felt about this place next time.

New Year's Eve

Hi readers,
Yesterday I performed 金蛇狂舞 (Golden Snake Dance) along with Chinese Orchestra for Chinese New Year Celebration. The performance's overall was outstanding and many students cheered. Unfortunately, none of my classmates saw me because I was right at the back. :(

Recently, my sister who took her O Level last year got posted to Jurong Junior College and have to say that the school there seems fun and interesting, though it is far from home and the traffic is sometimes terrible. Also, I heard from some students in my school that Principle of Accounts will be open for Secondary 3 next year which of course is my batch. If I were to choose POA, F&N (Food & Nutrition), Art or D&T (Design & Technology), I would definitely go for POA and if POA is not open, then I would choose F&N. :)

Before I end off this post, I would like to wish my readers a Happy Lunar New Year and stay healthy. ^^ Here's a video of a commercial of Ah Huat 白咖啡 (White Coffee):
