Movie review: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

THIS REVIEW HAS SOME MINOR SPOILERS.

Hello readers,
It has been a month since I last went to a cinema and today I managed to catch Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The last Marvel franchise installment I watched was Thor 2: The Dark World and this year, there are two films from Marvel including this latest Captain America sequel and the upcoming Guardians of The Galaxy which is coming out in Summer 2014.

Okay back to a review for Captain America: The Winter Soldier! As we know Steve Rogers/Captain America is still adjusting to the 21st century, there is so much things for him to learned and adapted. This can be seen from his pocket notebook which included trying out Thai food and watched Star Wars. Besides adjusting to this 21st century, Rogers has reunited and partnered up with Natasha/Black Widow (who has a change of hairstyle). I loved the partners' chemistry and the way they worked while going against Hydra.

With an additional of Sam/Falcon who has been giving off comedic situation at some point and also Nick Furry, this sequel also introduced a dark and mysterious assassin known as Winter Soldier. I said he is a dark and mysterious due to the fact that he is invincible and unstoppable. Captain America showed guilt over his days in the World War II and if you have watched the 2011 film, I am definitely sure you will get this rough idea of what is going to happened.

Overall of the storyline is clear and impressive. However, some parts of the film have cartoonish CGIs like The Avengers. Also, I am a little puzzled over the opening scene of this sequel because I felt I was watching as though an episode of a television series and again, the formula of the closing scene was equalled to opening scene. Nevertheless, I was entertained by the film and had a blast in the cinema.

Ratings: 7/10

P.S. While watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I noticed some of the audience were confused over the story plot. I suggest to you, readers to watched Captain America: The First Avenger first before buying a movie ticket. This sequel expects you to know the main course before proceeding on to another course.

Another suggestion is to please remained seated in the cinema after the film ended as there is a post-credits scene which is a transition to the upcoming next year's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Demand

Hello readers,
As school holidays will last for one week, I will make sure it will be productive. Though this is a one week holiday, I still have to go back to school for CCA and also I have tuition tomorrow.

I had Chinese Orchestra sectional practice in the afternoon just now and sadly to say, there were two people including myself attended today. I am disappointed in how some people did not take CCA seriously and how some can come up with different excuse to avoid attending. Some said they were having a "big flu" while some were having ulcers.

I am sick of all these excuses because just like these people, I used to turn up for CCA with blocked nose, flu or two ulcers under upper lips. It was horrible and uncomfortable, especially when you are blowing your instrument through a pipe and it requires strength. Having ulcers under upper lips was the worst experience I ever felt 2-3 months ago after spending time with it for nearly 2-3 weeks including Christmas, New Years' Eve, New Years' Day and School Day.

I would like to give a special mention to a guy who attended CCA sectional practice today. Although I am not closed to him, I admired his hardworking attitude and integrity. He is a good example to his juniors and every Wednesday, though it is not compulsory to attend practice since our instructor couldn't make it on this day, he would always attend this practice and teach the juniors in playing the music score.

I remembered two months ago, after Secondary 3 students were released from 2 Days, 1 Night camp, our teacher in charge allowed us to be excused from CCA. However, this guy did not excused himself and turned up for CCA to help the juniors. I was shocked to hear this after listening to my junior and thus, I admired his attitude. It was sad to see how his juniors were so carefree about the CCA and also how stressed up this guy is. In the sectional, I could see how this guy was when instructor was teaching him as he was the one who hold the whole section during the performance.

Sometimes, I just feel like taking the brains out of people and smacked till it feels as though knowledge has been added in.

As C.S. Lewis said, "And he writhed inside at what seemed the cruelty and unfairness of the demand. He had not yet learned that if you do one good deed your reward usually is to do another and harder and better one."

Sad though...

Another segment I will write here is regarding about National University of Singapore Chinese Instrument Examination. Back in November 2013, I took an instrument examination after teacher told everyone to signed up and get a certificate to show how capable you are as a member and helper. I remembered a month before the examination, I would every time take my grading pieces out and start selecting which want I wanted to play.

After working hard and figured out the music pieces, I would do my best and practice them everyday and everyday. In honour of what I have done to earned a Distinction, I decided to share my photo of certificate.

That's all I have today, good night!

MH370

P.S. DO NOT TAKE THIS POST SERIOUSLY AS THESE ARE BASED ON MY OPINIONS AND WHAT I HAVE RESEARCHED.

Hello readers,
The news about Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is trending in Twitter and Facebook! It is sad to hear such mysterious incident happened. I am sure everyone wants these passengers and crew to come back home safely.

The airplane mysteriously disappeared over the Gulf of Thailand at 1.22am after losing contact and was reportedly missing at 2.40am on March 8, 2014. The flight was from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was supposed to land in Beijing, China after six hours.

There has been many theories being made by commenters and countries' representative. However, there are some theories I would like to address:

Terrorism
United States officials stated the possibility of terrorism after two passengers on board used passports of Austrian and Italian respectively. I do not believed in this theory because after researching on the aircraft and the details, why would terrorists want to attack this particular aircraft.

Terrorists are people who want to make a statement on a particular topic, so why choose to disappeared over the Gulf of Thailand? There is no clear evidence to show that terrorism did occurred.

I think someone should check all CCTV footages and hired some behavioral analysts to study the two passengers' behaviour prior to boarding the plane.

Turning back
Airplane turning back over Gulf of Thailand. This is an interesting theory, however there is lack of evidence to proof this.

'Exploding in mid-air'
This is my theory: airplane exploding in mid-air. There were reports that suggested the old spill belonged to the airplane. I heard they carried additional fuel and what if the plane had some fuel leak which led to exploding in mid-air. If I am not wrong, some people found debris which I believed it may have been exploded in mid-air.

I hope you guys don't take my theory seriously as I was just suggesting.

No matter what theories or evidence, I just hope these passengers and crew are still alive. 50% is they may be alive and 50% is they may be dead by now. If they really died from this mysterious incident, I shall give my deepest condolences to the families out there. These people aren't meant to be taken away...
