What's going on?

Hello readers,
Yesterday was the last day of Term 2 and I was glad to spent it wisely!

The whole school went out for Values-In-Action (VIA) Day, where we collected non-perishable canned food from the residents of different HDB blocks. I was grouped with some members to collect the canned food from Block 441. Before taking off to go to the blocks, my class walked from school all the way down to the block and I swear it was exhausting due to the hot sun.

My group went to Block 441 which consisted of 12 levels. To our surprise, most of the residents were either out to buy groceries from the market or were out for work since we started collecting non-perishable canned food at around 8.25am. Even those who were at home, they said that they do not have any non-perishable canned food. Therefore, we only collected 10 canned food from residents who were at home. Collecting canned food only took my group almost half an hour and so we waited at the first level for other groups to be back.

I spent my free period using my phone to listened the song, MAMA by EXO-M since I had CCA combined practice in the afternoon. When the other groups were back, my class walked back to the school and had an early recess at 9.45am till 10.45am. After recess, we spent an hour doing spring cleaning in the classroom. Taking out trashes and cleaning chairs, windows and tables were part of the spring cleaning routine every year in my school.

Once my class was done with spring-cleaning, we played a game which had got to do with the multiplication of the number 7 till we left the classroom at 12.40pm.

Although there isn't much bonding between me and my classmates, I was glad to have worked with them throughout the 5 months. VIA Day is one of the few occasions where you can see the bonding and effort between your classmates. I wished everyone to enjoy your school holidays, though there is still a need to returned to school for CCA or maybe, Student Leadership events. ;-)

To end off the post, here is the class photo of 3/1.

Movie Review: Godzilla

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS.

Imagine yourself being somewhere in California, San Francisco or Los Angeles... whatever. Think about what would you do if the news came on and talked about an unknown, gigantic monster is heading to your area? Would you be terrified or brave? Now that is how Godzilla flow...

Godzilla is a monster-action film which shows how mankind survived during a threatening situation such as the two winged creatures who rose up and went around the Earth to harmed people.

Prior to the film being shown, I liked the opening of the film. Using old footages or probably the original Godzilla film to pieced them up as the opening was unique and interesting. In the starting of the film, the audience are shown with an event which occurred in the Philippines in the year 1999. This was the location where a group of people discovered two egg pods and an enormous skeleton underground. However, one of the egg pods was hatched and the creature flew out. At the same time, somewhere in Japan, there is a Brody family which consisted of parents and a son. The father works as a plant supervisor at Janjira Nuclear Plant, so does the mother who probably worked as one of the team who checked the nuclear reactor.

Watching the moment where the father (his acting was impactful) had his last glance of the mother, who knew she was about to die, due to the monster (who happened to be the one from the Philippines) under the nuclear plant, was the saddest thing to see. Imagining yourself losing your loved ones due to unfortunate accident or natural disaster is something you remember for life.

The film itself is definitely refreshing because I have never seen "monster versus a monster" film for quite some time now. I liked the fighting moments where Godzilla saved the citizens and fight off two winged creatures to balanced the peace. The film itself showed that even nuclear power is sometimes not a right option to end the suffering. Nuclear power only creates chaos...

背叛伤害 Betrayal Hurts

THIS POST MAY BE OFFENSIVE TO THE EXO FANDOM AND ANYTHING POSTED HERE SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN TOO SERIOUSLY. THESE ARE BASED ON WHAT I HAVE FOUND, WHAT I HEARD AND WHAT I REMEMBERED. IF YOU BELIEVED THAT YOU MAY GET OFFENDED, I SUGGEST YOU NOT TO READ.

Hello readers,

Today I am here to talk about South Korean-Chinese K-pop boy group, EXO. Yesterday, the group made a headline after one of their members, Kris decided to file a lawsuit against SM Entertainment, who has been managing the members since 2012.

I am indeed shocked to hear such news about Kris trying to leave the label since their promotion for their new extended play (EP), Overdose, was started a week ago. The group wanted to promote the EP last month. Unfortunately, due to the Sewol ferry incident, the EP was postponed till this month. According to the Chinese media outlet, Kris filed the lawsuit yesterday morning around almost lunch hour. The news soon spread to Weibo, Twitter and even at the same time, Allkpop has published the news article with additional mini updates from various sources.

Kris filed a lawsuit on May 15, 2014 and he will be represented by a lawyer who had previously handed the case of former SM Entertainment artiste, Han Geng in 2009.

As you can see the above image, this shows the lawsuit which Kris has filed yesterday morning under this birth name, Wu Yi Fan. He will be represented by a lawyer who happened to took up a case of former artiste from the same label, Han Geng in 2009.

Kris's reason for the lawsuit was because he felt he was being treated as if he was an object rather than being respected as an artiste. Sources have mentioned that SM Entertainment being one-sided when deciding on the schedule, not giving thoughts to his opinion or health condition. They also believed that the label is restricting Kris from his basic human rights to freedom and his career choices, therefore the contract should be nullified.

I am utterly disappointed in the fans for blaming SM Entertainment and the other members including Tao.

The reason why the fans are blaming SM because the label was known for their infamous 'slave contract'slave contract is a long-term and/or unfair agreement signed by K-pop artistes with their management agencies. So far I have not heard anything about 'slave contract' between artistes and the label since the dark days in 2009.

I believed that this lawsuit filed by Kris has nothing to do with the label's past scandals. In fact, the label has no knowledge about the lawsuit until the news article was published.
"We are trying to confirm the facts regarding the lawsuit requesting for the termination of Kris' contract. It is a very shocking issue, but we will do our best so that EXO's activities will go on smoothly."
On the other hand, Tao took his thoughts to his Instagram and Weibo.
The road is long, and no one can decide where you want to go. The public will always be left in the dark, but it might be that the public will side with who is in the minority. However that's not the truth. Only those who have experienced the truth are able to understand, such as our eleven members and SM employees. To those on the outside, the right and wrong could be reflected oppositely. They probably won't know what it feels like to be betrayed by another person and then to have everyone side with the person who has betrayed us. Everyone can have their own perspectives and opinions. However, the truth is pointing to what is right and wrong. We have a clear conscience. We can't stop someone who wants to leave, and he kept this from us. As we were sweating and practicing hard for our concert, we learned that one wouldn't be coming back. We have to restart preparations for the concert as eleven members. So tired. EXO, let's love.
From Tao's respective, Kris betrayed the remaining EXO members and the label. He believed the majority of the public will side with the minority which indirectly referred to Kris himself. Tao is very clear about Kris' actions and the truth. No one, except for the people in the label will be able to understand the feeling of betrayal.

I feel for Tao and the other affected parties since I once got betrayed and it felt horrible. Unfortunately, some fans believed these precious words were written by the label to go against Kris.

I don't stand by Tao just because he is my bias, I stand by him because of his character. Tao is someone who was raised with moral values in him. Prior to joining EXO, he used to complained about his tiredness, training or sometimes expressed his views in an ugly way. If you remembered the sasaengs incident back in October last year, he wrote and expressed his anger through Weibo which has since been removed.

"我实在是受不了半夜三更一直给我们打电话的、一天到晚发短信发KAKAO的、不管去哪里都要偷偷跟着的那种人,有意思吗?我很讨厌别人来打扰我的生活!我喜欢逛街吃饭在外面见朋友,但我不喜欢被人跟着,我不是罪人!出去不是去犯罪!我只想工作完了可以安静的休息,有属于自己的空间!而不是像现在这样!"
"I really cannot stand calls coming in the middle of the night, endless messages from Kakao, no matter where I go there's always people following, is it that fun and meaningful? I hate people who disturb my private life! I love eating with my friends outside, however I don't like people stalking me, I am not an offender! Going out is not against the law! All I want is to get my work done so I can have my quiet, peaceful rest, especially giving myself space! Not how it is now!"
Tao is someone who speaks the truth and say an opinion which he believed the public should know. From the way the Instagram post was written, this was definitely written and uploaded by none other than him. If you are not convinced, I suggest you do some digging on his deleted Weibo and/or QQ posts. That includes pre-debut ones too!

Many hours after he posted the Instagram message and saw negative responses, he went to his Weibo to clarify that he was in fact the one and only person who wrote the messages.

I am EXO member Tao. The things said on Weibo and Instagram are by me. I have nothing to hide.
I will not be translating the words because they are similar to the Instagram message.

I was pissed off by the fans who kept asking whether SM is behind all of the messages. I believed that the fans should accept the truth and stop lying to themselves. For example, "Oh, Tao wouldn't say such a thing about Kris" or "Kris treated you so well, blah blah blah." I always thought Taoris (Tao + Kris) was actually a shipping couple in the group. However, as months go by, I am convinced that none of the shipping couple was true.

I am always seeing Tao with the two youngest members, Kai and Sehun. Speaking of Tao, I am also convinced that Kris has other personal interests which led him to filing the lawsuit. He was most of the time outcast from the variety shows and was rarely given a chance to be in the spotlight.

Anyway from all the current situation of the scandal right now, we, as the member of the public, will never know the true reason behind Kris decision to leave the company and how serious was the betrayal. We must also let go of the past. Sometimes, the past scandals does not reflect on the current ones. All we can do now is just wait and see...

P.S. Took me almost two hours to write this post. Also, fans should stop asking Tao whether it was really him who wrote those messages. He has already stated that anything he posts on Weibo and Instagram are his actions. Recently, Tao has posted a selfie of himself in a gym. Therefore, this proved that SM Entertainment confiscating phone from every member is not true.

Amazing May

Hello readers,
I apologize for not being active on my blog lately. I always wonder whether can I commit to writing a post or not since I have dumping my blog and also I haven't been to any movie yet.

Mid-Year Examinations started two weeks ago and it is still going on... Had my Mathematics Paper 1, Mother Tongue, Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies and History last week and in my opinion, those papers were not so horrible or evil. Today and Wednesday are normal lessons before having my last two papers, Mathematics Paper 2 and Principles of Accounts which ends this Friday.

I got back my Physics and Chemistry papers today and I passed with flying colour. I got a Grade 1 for the combined overall since I am taking combined science. I hope to maintain my overall results since Science is a subject which allows me to do well and get a distinction. Other papers such as Social Studies, Mathematics Paper 1 and History, well... my teachers does not wished to go through until the right time comes.

Besides getting back Physics and Chemistry results, I managed to receive my Ex-co badge which I have been longing for. To be honest, I was expecting a small badge which states my position, General Secretary. Never knew the badge that was given to me had my name, Crissie Tan Kai Ning, printed on it. It is nice to see a badge which had my name on it which is a great souvenir before stepping down next year. I hope to work hard for both my subjects and Student Council. I am loyal and dedicated to my work and committed to help the school and my CCA, Chinese Orchestra.

Anyway, I am excited about this month because many movies that I am interested in are coming! This means I will be able to write a movie review and share my opinion with you, readers.

I shall end here and wait for my dinner...

Life is too fun, isn't it?
