Mini update

Hello readers,
Although I will not be posting anything related to films or maybe my life, I would kindly like you to visit my SoundCloud where I have been creating new tracks and uploading them every week. I have been producing weird, cranky music since March this year after watching Zedd's DJing performance and discovering other producers whom I found on Spotify.

Music is like a universal activity. Everyone will definitely hear music through television commercials, MP3 player, radio in your car or maybe even creating your own by clapping, tapping or whatever actions you do. If you were to ask me what type of music I usually listen of, I can tell you I am a sucker for great rhythm, big band, special effects in Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and not to forget, lyrics which is similar to Lana Del Rey and Arctic Monkeys.

The songs which I am currently into are Don't by Ed Sheeran, Love Runs Out by OneRepublic, Bedroom Hymns by Florence + The Machine, I'm Not The Only One by Sam Smith, Latch by Disclosure featuring Sam Smith and Jimmy's Gang by Parov Stelar. You, readers should give a try in listening to these songs, especially I'm Not The Only One.

My username on SoundCloud is crushedtiggy. Recently, I posted a track called, Let Out The Danger which consists of Danger by Taemin of SHINee and Let Out The Beast by EXO, so do give a listen. :)

That's all for today!

Movie review: The Amazing Spider-Man 2

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS.

Hello readers,
Yesterday I rented a DVD of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 from Lot 1. I decided to watch this film after watching Dane DeHaan's performance in Chronicle and also I was curious about his version of Harry Osborn/Green Goblin (yes, I am a Dane bias). Since yesterday I watched this film at late night, I decided to write a review about it and no, no, I will try not to be bias.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and it is one of the reboot trilogy. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 explored on how Peter Parker tried to balance his ordinary life and superhero life. The film also showed what happened to Peter's parents since he has always been living with his Aunt May and his deceased uncle, Uncle Ben. There were a few tributes to the original trilogy such as Peter Parker's phone ringtone was the theme for Spider-Man. In my opinion, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been trying hard to balanced the comedy and serious effect which I have nothing to say. The visual effects looked realistic, except for the movie posters LOL.

The film has brilliant cast including Jamie Foxx who starred as Max Dillion/Electro. This was my first time watching Jamie acting as a fellow who has a syndrome where celebrities are his friend and for that, I will have to praised that since he looked so different. On the other hand, I can't tell whether how well Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone's acting are since in real life, they are both a couple. I liked how Andrew talked which really captured the hyper yet energetic Spider-Man, despite the fact he doesn't seem to look like a high school student graduating. To me, I see him as a college student graduating. As Dane DeHaan had acted as a loner-villain in Chronicle, if I were to choose which villain acted by Dane is my favourite, I would go for this Harry Osborn. I liked the part where he and Jamie as Electro were in the Oscorp Industries's main office. That Harry was a shocker!

And back to the summary of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the film dealed with the main issue: trust. We can see that Peter Parker wasn't honest with his feelings, Harry Osborn who desperately wanted the spider blood to cure his illness and how the Oscorp Industries was corrupted ever since long time ago. I understand how these characters feel, especially Peter who always seem lost in his decisions unless with the help of Gwen. The sad moment was when Peter Parker's father recorded a video of himself, telling the truth about what happened in Oscorp Industries and the sacrifices he made to save his child, since Peter grew up detesting his father for 'abandoning' him. See how strong family members' feelings are? And also, how Peter lost Gwen Stacy, a companion and listener over a fight with Harry Osborn/Green Goblin who ended up in a mental institution.

At the end of the day, none of the characters are really that bad. It's just that they did things for their benefit in getting back what they want or achieved.

Ratings: 7/10

Disappointed

Hello readers,
I did not write any post last week due to hectic schedule and National Day where Singapore turned 49 years old. Quite an achievement right? However, there are some things which I am currently disappointed with.

For the past few weeks, I have been feeling slightly grumpy over nothing or sometimes over a particular matter which I think could have been done better. I was disappointed in how my examinations turned out as school did not gave us, students some time to cope with a new chapter or topic which was only taught a few weeks ago. I know people will say, "You should use your free time and work hard" but does it work? Even if I had a free time, does it helped achieve an aim? I wondered.

Another thing which I was disappointed with was regarding about CCA. CCA has always been an engaging, fun learning activity after school and for nearly 3 years, I have been putting in my best for every performances and practices. However, with the new teachers and students management, I can say it was horrible. Firstly, the leaders were treating members unequally. Secondly, due to the fact there is a vice-chairperson in my section, there are miscommunication issues between members including myself. Lastly, the teachers, especially the woman (I won't revealed her name), had been neglecting the CCA for quite some time now. The woman even became part of the Student Council committee and I am annoyed by it.

Today I had my Nanyang Polytechnic K-Attack Concert rehearsal from 4pm to 10pm and I was utterly pissed off wifh the actions the people took. We came to NYP as early as 4.25pm and guess what? The people told us to have your dinner and the break lasted from 4.50pm to 5.50pm which was an hour. I even received my new CO t-shirt and I was disappointed in the spelling of the name. Prior to receiving the shirt, I wrote my name, Crissie clearly on the paper and in return, I got my t-shirt with name spelled as Crisse. I was also disappointed because I paid $12.50 for the shirt and that was what I got: A name which was never fucking checked. I hope to receive the new, replaced t-shirt soon since I have to wear the wrong one tomorrow for K-Attack Concert.

Besides the price and the shirt, I am also super pissed off with how the Nanyang Polytechnic AVA crew handled the situation. They took my Sheng unknowingly and replaced one of theirs with mine throughout the rehearsal. Besides using my Sheng, two boys from different schools have been using my instrument with no idea that does not belonged to NYP. Good life, right?

I hope the situation or events can be much better and happier than it is now...

"In The Lonely Hour" by Sam Smith

Hello readers,
Yesterday I managed to bought In The Lonely Hour by Sam Smith at the iTunes Store and I have to say I wished I could have bought this earlier back three months ago. To be honest, this is the first time I had bought an album which is neither noisy nor messy since the albums I mostly bought like Lana Del Rey, The Neighbourhood and Arctic Monkeys have a typical pattern.

In The Lonely Hour is an album which touches my ears because they were peaceful and quiet. Sam Smith's recognizable vocal shook me as he is able to change from low to high pitch so instantly without any difficulties. In The Lonely Hour is a great album for people who wish to listen at night while others are sleeping, or having a happy day ahead, very touching and hyped!

I will mentioned some songs which I like from In The Lonely Hour. Life Support attracted me with a calm yet slow vibe ("I've been sleeping with the lights on") throughout and that is quite similar to Beyoncé's. Lay Me Down reminds me of "angelic" Amy Winehouse and the songs from typical musicals. Money On My Mind is also listed on my "should be mentioned" songs in this album, although I am not a fan of how the chorus sounded like. What a pity! Lastly, Like I Can is lively yet reminds me of music by Duffy.

In The Lonely Hour by Sam Smith is sure an anticipated album of 2014. I can't described what I heard, although I know this album is great. Despite the fact Sam has a high pitch vocal which may sometimes sound annoying, the way he put his feelings and the warmness he sang makes his voice instantly recognizable and unique.

So if you haven't gotten In The Lonely Hour, you should right now by heading to iTunes Store and purchase the album at $12.40 (if I'm not wrong) or get a physical copy!

P.S. Sam Smith's music video for his new single, I'm Not The Only One is out on YouTube. Give a listen!
